Controls Engineer

Are you an experienced Controls Engineer who is looking for a new challenge? If so then please apply!

The Primary role of an Electrical Controls Engineer is to design and develop all aspects of the electrical control systems for bespoke automated machinery. Also responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC and Robot based hardware and software.

Main Tasks :
Monitoring of the project(s) Controls element of the master planning to enable swift response(s) to timing slippages * Understand and work to the project(s) timing and budget allocation * Carry out swift problem-solving resolution with decisive decision making on Controls related issues.

Required Specific Skills Set

* Control circuit design for automated machinery * Control panel design * Using AutoCAD and/or EPlan Electrical * Working to customer specifications * Specification of electrical control components * Constructing Bill of Materials * Constructing technical literature * Maintaining up to date knowledge of Machinery Directive Practical * Control panel construction * Installing control systems on automated machinery * Machine wiring * Electrical fault finding * Working with other engineers * Installation and commissioning of systems in UK and overseas * Supervise and where appropriate assist with final de-bug and testing of systems prior to dispatch. Software * PLC design, installation & commissioning * HMI software design, * Working with vision, robotics, servo & pneumatic systems * Development of automated systems Desirables * Rockwell Studio5000 * FactoryTalk View Studio ME & SE * Siemens TIA Portal * Omron Sysmac Studio * Fanuc, Staubli, Yaskawa, Nachi, ABB Robots * Functional Safety Specification
