Randstad are recruiting for both Mechanical Fitters and Mechanical Sub-Assemblers on a temporary basis for a client based in Clevedon.

The contract will last at least until the end of the year and you will be paid on an hourly rate.

The skill sets that we require and further details for each role are as follows:

Mechanical Fitters:

  • Time served/Mechanical apprenticeship/Relevant professional qualification
  • The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Previous experience in production/manufacturing background
  • Precision fitting and pipe bending skills

Mechanical Sub-Assemblers:

  • Mechanical Sub-Assembly
  • Following and working from mechanical engineering diagrams/drawings
  • Using hand tools - wrenches, spanners, screwdrivers etc.
  • Using industrial power tools - Air guns etc.
  • Completing work in a timely and efficient manner ensuring its of high quality
  • Previous experience in production/manufacturing background

Shift Patterns:

  • Early: 6am - 2pm (15% shift premium)
  • Day: 8am - 4pm
  • Late: 2pm - 10pm (25% shift premium)


  • Fitter - starts at £12.71/hour (PAYE rate) OR £16.57/hour (Umbrella rate)
    • + 15% shift premium for early shifts (£14.62/hour / £19.06/hour)
    • + 25% shift premium for late shifts (£15.89/hour / £20.71/hour)
  • Sub-Assembler - starts at £11.31/hour (PAYE)
    • + 15% shift premium for early shifts (£13.01/hour)
    • + 25% shift premium for late shifts (£14.14/hour)
