Do you want to work for a global metrology business who's reputation extends over 130 years who have been designing, developing, and delivering contact and non-contact measuring solutions? My client is looking for a Cell Leader to drive the day to day activities of the Surface contact MLi Assembly Cell ensuring on time delivery, quality, continuous improvement, and efficient use of resources. To work closely with all departments in delivering sales, world class products to customer requirements.

My client are looking for someone to lead and organise the Surface Assembly Team to achieve on time delivery whilst ensuring a right first time culture. We are looking for someone who can:

  • Reduce average past due days by 5% per annum
  • Main Line Instrument (core products) and Spares on time delivery >90%
  • Increase labour efficiency by 3% per annum
  • Continually develop team meetings to drive overall performance
  • Implement robust continuous improvement ideas initiative
  • 6's programme developed, implemented, and owned by the teams
  • Maintain and develop a fit for purpose assembly area
  • Ensure best practice by running team projects

Essential Experience:

  • >2 years' experience in team leadership role
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Experience of leading small group activities to drive improvement ideas
  • Experience of mentoring and developing (multi-skilled) people
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of MS packages
  • Good knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, Kanban and Kaizen
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety and environmental practices
  • Understanding of production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-work
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good communicator, written and oral.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Product assembly
  • Experience with MS Dynamics Navision
  • Experience in Metrology metrics
